Chris Griffin - Chairman

Chris Griffin has over 20 years senior management and boardroom experience in the TV, telecoms and digital media industries. He combines a strong entrepreneurial outlook and real-world operational experience with a natural talent for mentoring and team building to bring a senior outlook to Platform’s business and to the services the company provides to its clients. He specializes in the challenges and opportunities arising from digital convergence, his core competencies include business development, strategy, operations and leadership.

After a 9 year career with MTV building out the Viacom channel’s distribution across Europe, Chris founded a new media consultancy specializing in channel development, launches and handling the move from analogue distribution to digital. This company was acquired by Granada Media PLC on 2000 and for the next five years Chris held the position of Director of Channels for ITV. Chris left ITV to found Aggregator Limited, a VC backed start-up. As Director of Programming, Chris  developed Aggregator’s niche content portals for world-wide distribution.

As well as his senior management progression, Chris has held a number of non-executive and shareholder directorship positions on the boards of strategic alliances and of venture capital funded companies. His open and supportive approach to management has made him invaluable in nurturing young entrepreneurs and in driving a sprit of collaboration amongst management teams, joint ventures and shareholders. Such directorships include Granada Sky Broadcasting, Shop! Man U TV, TV3 Ireland, ITV 2. He was Chairman of ITV News Channel between 2003 – 2005.
